and it’s just kinda yuchy..

An old friend of my sis’ comitted suicide during the week. It brought me back to when my very good, hilarious friend, Robert did it. I saw him about a week before, he was happy, laughing, writing lots of music and coming to sing with the Chorale. Then, he was gone. His mom was adamant about not having any of his friends there. It sucked. We tried to write letters, send flowers, and I think one of the group of us tried to send dinner. It didn’t work. She wanted nothing to do with us. It was one of those things that we all wanted closure for, but we couldn’t get any. We wanted to tell his mom how much he was loved, and how much his friendship and humor meant to all of us. Right now, I can still see him dressed up in drag for our HS project in Coleman’s class. He was Desdemona in our “5-Minute Othello” He came in with a 5 o’clock shadow and a baclava. He wore a skirt, and used a bad falsetto. We died laughing…we laughed until it hurt. We so wanted to share that with the world. It was great.

It just reminds me how yuchy it is that people with all of that energy, love and life to give don’t think they have any of that.

Robert- know that we all still love you…and that we’ll never, ever forget you..and we’ve really never said goodbye.

Of apples, closing doors and flies I wasn’t ready for this moment….
