The return of Home Depot and the 2×4

So, those of you who have been around know the tale of the guy I was tutoring who tried to use fuzzy logic to get Carolyn to give him a 2 hour session with me. For those of you who need a refresher..the gist of the tale was that Gentleman with thick Spanish Accent (GWTSA) said to Carolyn “you know, if you go to Home Depot and get a 2×4, and you pay for 1 and a half, they charge you for 2?” See? Seriously fuzzy logic.

So, last night, Maeve, Nathan, Doug and I were playing Cranium. Maeve and Nathan landed on a “Data Head” question. The question read “If you go to a store, and purchase a 2×4, what are the actual dimensions of what you are getting?”

I couldn’t get through the question…and Doug and Maeve were nearly on the floor wetting their pants. Nathan was utterly confused until I explained the story of GWTSA and the whole tale.

So, I had to read the question AGAIN, inserting “Home Depot” and having a very bad Spanish accent at the same time.

Who knew reading a question during a game of cranium would be so hard to get through.

Entry filed under: hilarity.

But he doesn’t LOOK Latin!! And the dealings with CMS are almost done…
